There are a lot of sources of CLE: seminars offered by the CBA or other third parties, in-house seminars, Bar Association meetings, meetings of Bar Association sections and committees, conferences and online webcasts and audiocasts. Below is a list of ALI-ABA online courses that I have taken. This is an inelegant way of presenting information. I hope to find a better way. In the meantime, I hope the information as presented will be of use to potential clients as well as an example – unimpressive as the manner of presentation is – of how CLE might be used as a factor in advertising. If one’s CLE efforts were a useful part of advertising one’s services, it might create an extra incentive to do continuing legal education voluntarily, which would, in my view, be preferable to complying with a government required type and quantity of CLE.
